A “Pending Cancel” status means that a cancellation request has been submitted, but the order has not yet been confirmed as cancelled by the exchange or order destination.
Until the cancellation is confirmed, the order is still not officially cancelled and may still receive an execution. An order is considered cancelled only once the exchange or order destination confirms that it has been removed from the order book.
If the order was submitted and then cancelled over the weekend or while the relevant exchange is closed, it may remain visible until the MEXEM/IBKR systems become fully active again after the weekend update. In these cases, the cancellation request should normally be processed before the exchange reopens for the new trading week.
If the order remains in “Pending Cancel” during an active trading session, the cause may be related to exchange, routing, or system issues. In this case, the client should contact MEXEM’s support.
